Oregon Grappling Arts Women’s Jiu Jitsu
At Oregon Grappling Arts, we aspire to advance women’s jiu jitsu in the Pacific Northwest. We recognize the many benefits of women-only training opportunities, such as
Removing barriers to entry for women who may feel uncomfortable in a co-ed training environment
Being able to train with peers who are a similar size and strength
Becoming part of a close-knit community of women
Promoting the presence of women in combat sports
The OGA women’s program is led by world-class female black belt Hannah Sharp. Hannah has been training for over ten years, and is one of the most accomplished competitors in the Pacific Northwest. You can read Hannah’s instructor bio and accomplishments here. Hannah enjoys helping women begin their jiu jitsu journeys. She also loves working closely with female competitors to help them achieve their goals. In addition to high-level instruction provided by a female black belt and the opportunity to train with some of the best competitive female grapplers in Portland, the OGA women’s program provides a source of community both inside the gym and during our regular social activities.
OGA offers a women-only class every Sunday at 12:00 noon. In addition, we strive to maintain a strong women’s presence in all of our co-ed classes, which women are welcome and encouraged to attend. Whether you’re looking to try a new activity, join a welcoming and supportive community of women, or train with some of the best competitive female grapplers in the Portland area, OGA would love to help you attend your first class.
