Eddie began training jiu jitsu in 2009 while living in Reno, Nevada. From 2016 to 2022, Eddie served as a head youth and assistant adult wrestling coach, adult and youth jiu jitsu instructor, and head Muay Thai trainer at a gym in Portland, Oregon, where he received his black belt in 2021.
Throughout his jiu jitsu career, Eddie has been dominant in the regional jiu jitsu competition scene, winning local tournaments in Nevada, California, Oregon, and Washington. He has also found success internationally at the master 1 level, winning an IBJJF brown belt Nogi World Championship and earning an IBJJF Nogi World silver medal at black belt.
Eddie is regarded as one of the most technically knowledgeable and passionate jiu jitsu instructors and coaches in the Pacific Northwest and he loves helping his students become more skilled and confident grapplers. He is committed to continually learning about modern, world class, competition-tested jiu jitsu technique so he can be the best competitor, instructor, and coach possible.
In addition to his jiu jitsu practice, Eddie was a four-year varsity wrestler for Clark High School in Las Vegas, NV, and has experience training and competing in mixed martial arts and Muay Thai both in the United States and in Thailand. He holds an amateur mixed martial arts record of 1-0, an amateur kickboxing record of 1-0, and a professional, full-rules Muay Thai record of 2-0.
Eddie earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2011.
