Welcome to Oregon Grappling Arts

At Oregon Grappling Arts, our mission is to provide our students with the highest level of jiu jitsu instruction in a safe and friendly community. OGA welcomes anyone interested in beginning a martial arts practice; no previous athletic experience is needed to get you on the mats. We are dedicated to helping each student reach their fullest potential in the sport, whether they train as a hobbyist or aspire to be an elite competitor. At OGA, we have committed to a lifelong study of jiu jitsu, following the sport as it evolves and grows. In addition to being excellent teachers, OGA’s instructors are some of the most accomplished no gi BJJ competitors in the Portland area, having won championships and earned podium finishes in nearly all competitive rulesets. If you are looking for a place to start training, improve your physical fitness and mental wellness, build self-confidence, or join a community, Oregon Grappling Arts is the place for you.

Our Instructors

Oregon Grappling Arts proudly offers the highest level of competition-tested Brazilian jiu jitsu instruction in Portland. OGA is the only academy in the area where every class on the schedule is taught by a black belt with extensive competition experience, an upper-belt IBJJF No Gi World Championship gold medal at the adult or master 1 level, and years of experience working with adult and youth students. We don’t relegate the teaching of youth or beginner adult classes to lower belts because we love to develop athletes and hobbyists of all ages and abilities. While many other gyms claim to offer “world-class” instruction, OGA is the sole Portland gym where all instructors have proved their jiu jitsu expertise through successful international-level competition performances.
